He did indeed come to Fordingbridge URC on Friday, 18th November at 7pm – the one and only Beatboxing Vicar and wowed the audience.

£170 was raised for Children in Need.

Ask anyone who came and they will tell you what an enjoyable evening it turned out to be.

Now, after winning the nativity factor competition, read and hear about him in the press, on radio and TV.

The morning service on 14th August took place in the garden of church members Peter and Yo Beech (see reference to Open Days). For the fourth successive year, the weather was fine, and a baptismal service was included.

Church members Yo and Peter Beech welcomed a total of 991 people to their garden at Sandleheath which, raising funds for the National Gardens Scheme, was open to the public in 2011 on Sunday afternoons : 10th July, 24th July and 31st July. The guests enjoyed a walk through flower gardens, a walled vegetable garden, greenhouses and around the lake and waterfall. Many visited the barn for a cup of tea and some home made cake, the proceeds from which have benefited our Church funds to tje extent of £2,035! More details at www.sandlecottage.co.uk

The United Rainbow Club opens

At the Sunday morning Service on the 9th May, a new venture began for our Junior Church. A room in the Manse has been given for their use and decorated as they wished. Very cleverly they want to be known as the United Rainbow Club – or URC for short ! After the service , the congregation were invited to inspect the room and also to enjoy a scrumptious birthday cake made for one of the Teenage URC members.

Our refurbished kitchen was dedicated at the Sunday service on 18th April. With its water heater, extra cupboards, two sinks, fridge and, eventually, a dish washer and combination microwave, it will be a pleasure to work in. We hope the organisations that use our facilities will enjoy it too. With appropriate professional assistance, much of the work was done in house, even so it has made a big hole in the church’s finances so watch out for our fund raising events.

Our musical was enthusiastically received by a large audience both on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. On Saturday the Church Hall was thronged by audience and cast enjoying the after performance coffee and cakes. £247.40 was generously donated for Children With Leukaemia.
